Clarissa's foster mom with a little update:
Hello, I just wanted to give an update on Clarissa, or as she is
affectionately know as around here, Clair-bear. She is doing well,
she is getting settled into her new foster home nicely. She is such a
sweet girl. So affectionate. Always trying to kiss our faces! I can
tell already in these couple of weeks that she is getting more
comfortable here.
Clarissa and Emy get along, but I think Clarissa
prefers Emy not to be in her face all the time because she will go sit
by herself in a corner. She is much more willing to come jump up on
the couch with us if Emy is outside playing! Clarissa went to my
mom's house with us the other day to meet Maggie, the English springer
Spaniel, and Stormy, the Weimeraner. She did really well over there.
She tolerated the chaos that Emy and Maggie cause when they are
together, (puppies!) pretty well. She is not afraid to let the big
dogs know when they're too close. She has even tried playing with Emy
a few times now.

Clarissa's next adventure is going to be meeting
cats this weekend to see how she responds. She is very good with Tony,
our 8 year old. I think that's a good aged child for her because he's
old enough to know how to not terrorize her. She may be a little more
timid around smaller children I think. So all is well here! -Amanda

A new foster home!

Amanda, Clarissa's new foster mom writes:

"Hello all, I just wanted to give an update. Because of the snow storm
that hit you guys in Chicago today, Charles and I decided to drive out
last night to get Clarissa, and then turn back around and come home.
So we now have our new little girl! She is a sweetheart! Lots of
kisses on our faces! She is still a little shy with Charles when he is
standing up. But as soon as he get down on her level she comes over
and rolls over on him or jumps up and kisses his face. She is getting
used to everyone and everything and I think so far she's doing well.
She is adorable! Well worth the nine hours in the car last night! She
has not played with Emy yet, and it's not for lack of Emy trying, but
I think she will come around. I'll keep ya posted!" -Amanda

Little Clarissa is settling in well at her foster home.

Clarissa's foster mom was happy to report: "Great news everybody!!! Clarissa finally figured out how to play with my dog Ollie...she's having a ball!"

Clarissa is a cutie–pie. She is maybe a Setter/Long Haired Dachshund. She was lifting her little leg up as if to Point in the yard.

She’s a bit intimidated by the big dogs but ate real well last night and this AM. Of course she was fine with Thelmalou. She will be moving to a new foster home with more Doxies today J

A sweet little girl!

Sweet little Clarissa was at a shelter and needed to get out ot be safe. A kind sponsor was able to help pay for her vetting and Illinois Birddog Rescue was thrilled when they found a foster home for this darling, to take her into rescue.
